American Hardwoods

From kitchen stools to portable work spaces, the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) presents “The Wish List – What I have always wanted …” an out-of-the-box project that pushes the boundaries and showcases just how versatile and dynamic American Hardwoods can be!

Initiated by AHEC and Benchmark Furniture, and part of the London Design Festival 2014, “The Wish List” has brought together ten leaders in design who have commissioned 10 emerging designers to create the objects that have always dreamed of.

On display in the Architectural Gallery of the Victoria and Albert Museum until October 24, the creations, which include tableware, chairs, even portable rooms, were all made from American Hardwoods. Included in the mix are cherry, walnut, red oak, white oak, maple, ash and tulipwood.
